Dear Charter Members, 2010!

Greetings from all of us here at the White Mountain Athletic Club and the Waterville Valley Tennis Center. The winter didn't prove to have too much snow, but the skiing was great! Isn't it amazing how well the mountain operators groom and maintain our trails? The snowmaking is just fantastic!

I'd like to thank all of you who continue to support the club and use it as a part of your experience here in Waterville Valley. Anyone remember the rainy days when there was no Town Square or Athletic Club?

We've added some new cardio equipment and replaced or upgraded some items in the weight room, as well as installed a new pool liner in recent months.

We are also pleased to announce our partnership with New England Tennis Holidays, formerly of No. Conway, NH as Curt and Clare Grabher will be making their way over to our courts and providing 3 and 5-day instructional camps. Many of you know they are consistently the highest rated adult tennis camps on tennisresortsonline.com so you can imagine how thrilled we are to have them in our Top 25 resort! A win-win for sure,...

Chef/Owner Sean Stout and the crew of the Coyote Grill Restaurant are also enjoying a good season. We've expanded the restaurant with new dining spaces and bar top seating. There is more viewing into the indoor tennis pavilion and big screen TV's which will add interest to our league play and weekend tennis soirees.

The outdoor tennis center was once again a very busy place in summer 2009, and we look forward to 2010! Led by record-breaking attendance in our clinics and the outstanding adult round robins, we look to once again be rated as one of the finest tennis centers in the world!

If you would like to rate your experience at the outdoor tennis center go to tennisresortsonline.com and click on the Waterville Valley Resort.

Finally, a word on my terrific staff, led by our Guest Services Coordinator, Diane Vermeersch, who is the best of the best. The entire staff deserves credit for maintaining a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Their terrific attitudes and attention to your needs makes for a great visit to the club and outdoor tennis center time and time again.

Stop in next time you're in the Valley!

Best regards,

Rene Schwartz,
General Manager

White Mountain Athletic Club Announces Major Accessibility Project

New elevator highlights a full spectrum of changes.

February 21, 2005, (Waterville Valley, NH) - White Mountain Athletic Club, Inc. (WMAC, Inc.) announced today it will move forward this spring with a major renovation project designed to provide handicap access to all major areas of the club.

"In the ten years since we've owned and operated this facility we've always felt a need to improve and redesign many areas of the club on an annual basis. We have provided new indoor tennis surfacing, new pools, new cardio and weight room equipment, restaurant redesign, new roofing along with many other improvements. From day one the accessibility issue has always been a very important component to our master plan, but we felt the necessity to first repair many of the problems which already existed. Now that those have been addressed we are thrilled this project will become a reality," states Tom Gross, Jr., President of WMAC, Inc.

The project, designed by architect Mark Wheeler of EH Danson Associates of St. Johnsbury, VT will consist of a new walkway and entrance, an elevator located just off the front stairwell which will stop on all four levels, a new front desk, lobby and pro shop featuring designed logo wear.

"And that's just the main level - as a result of the project, we're also redesigning the weight and aerobic room areas, in addition to relocating the office and storage capacity in the Coyote Grill restaurant area," states General Manager Rene Schwartz. "Access to the indoor and outdoor pool areas will no longer be an issue."

Schwartz continued, "Waterville Valley has a terrific adaptive ski program and we're happy to have the opportunity to serve adaptive ski program participants, wheelchair bound patrons and let's not forget those who have difficulty walking up and down stairs along with families with strollers."

Kathy Chandler, Director of the Adaptive Snow Sports Program in Waterville Valley commented, "We are thrilled the Athletic Club and the Coyote Grill restaurant will now be accessible for our participants, many of which are athletes and are eager to use the facility."

Aside from an elevator and increased access, there are plans to replace many doors and all public door handles will be levered. Wheelchair accessible water fountains, ramps and corridors will round out the scope of the project.

New flooring and space implementation on the third floor will accommodate more bar and restaurant area seating. Sean Stout, owner of the Coyote Grill restaurant that is located on the upper level of the club observes, "it is always nice to increase space in your restaurant and with additional seating along the tennis windows and a new area over the lobby we will continue to provide our guests with a very comfortable setting for dining."

"We have always felt it was very important for our members and guests to see change and/or expansion on a yearly basis at both the Mountain Athletic Club and the Waterville Valley Tennis Center. We are very excited about this particular project, which is targeted to begin in April of this year," added Tom Gross, Jr.

During the course of construction there is expected to be little to no disruption of services for the members and guests of the resort.

The project, expected to cost in the vicinity of $600,000, will be carried out by Glen Builders, Inc. of North Conway, NH and is expected to take seven months to complete.

WMAC, Inc.'s mission is to provide modern, four-season recreational opportunities, currently in the form of the WMAC and the WVTC, to property owners, vacationers, and local townspeople in Waterville Valley and the greater Waterville Valley area.

White Mountain Athletic Club, Inc.
